About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wellness Representative to join our team at WCB Alberta. As a key member of our Corporate Wellness department, you will play a vital role in promoting employee wellbeing and reducing the risk of workplace injuries and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations to employees to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs and activities to reduce the risk of workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Work with employees to develop plans for managing illness or injury, and provide support and resources to help them return to work.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of employee interactions and program participation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to design and implement primary prevention programs and activities that promote employee wellbeing.
  • Assist in the oversight of the fitness center to ensure a safe and healthy environment for employees.
  • Provide education and training to employees on injury and illness prevention, and promote the benefits of a healthy and safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Kinesiology or a related field, and two years of experience in the health and/or rehab industry or health promotion.
  • Experience or knowledge of office ergonomics or kinesiology is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety training regulations, including standard first aid, AED, and CPR.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
