Richter is a Family Office | Business Advisory firm that provides strategic advice on business matters and the financial and personal goals of families across generations.

As a Canadian Taxation Advisor at Richter, you will engage in activities such as tax and estate planning, transaction support, tax compliance, and managing audits by tax authorities.

You will provide comprehensive support to our clients for all their tax needs, including tax and estate planning, transaction support, tax compliance, and managing audits by tax authorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing tax and estate planning services to clients
  • Supporting transactions to achieve clients' tax objectives
  • Preparing memorandums for tax reorganizations, estate planning, or transaction support
  • Identifying tax issues, interpreting and applying tax laws, and analyzing case law or technical interpretations from tax authorities
  • Preparing and reviewing income tax returns for large corporations and identifying planning opportunities
  • Preparing special tax forms (branch tax returns, Regulation 105, T2057, etc.)
  • Conducting various tax attribute analyses in the context of tax planning or transactions
  • Drafting written submissions or notices of objection in the context of tax audits

Requirements:

  • CPA or law degree obtained, CPA Canada's foundational tax course completed, or currently pursuing a master's degree in taxation
  • Problem-solving skills, including ingenuity, analytical thinking, and creativity
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel), TaxPrep, TaxnetPro/CCH, or other tax research software
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to organize and present information clearly to clients and team members
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to customer service
