School Age Program Leader

Role Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic School Age Program Leader to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a School Age Program Leader, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and programming to our school-age children, while building strong relationships with our families and communities.

The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is a leading provider of child care services in the province, with a strong commitment to delivering programs that support the healthy development of children and families. Our School Age program is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for children to learn, grow, and thrive. As a School Age Program Leader, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with our staff and families to deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate programs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide quality care and programming to school-age children, including planning and implementing activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social development.
  2. Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, including communicating regularly with parents and caregivers to ensure their child's needs are met.
  3. Implement the YMCA A Place to Connect curriculum, working closely with our leadership team to ensure that programs are delivered in a way that meets the needs of our children and families.
  4. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in our care, including maintaining a safe and healthy environment and following all applicable regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be 19 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Responsible Adult certification, equivalent child-related training, or a willingness to obtain training.
  3. Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with clear Vulnerable Sector Search.
  4. Current Child Care First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or willingness to obtain.
