Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Supervisor to join our team in Whitby, Ontario. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily warehousing activities and ensuring that all safety guidelines and procedures are strictly adhered to.

About the Role

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities, including lumping operations, attendance & punctuality tracking, and the accurate logging of receiving/lumping paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with company/client's policies and quality standards in lumping operations, taking corrective actions whenever necessary.
  • Schedule and assign tasks accordingly to shift members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Manage conflicts among team members while maintaining a good working relationship between the Drake lumping team and client's management team.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and implementing solutions to increase efficiency.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with Drake management and client's management team, conducting daily check-ins to ensure requirements are met.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new employees, ensuring a seamless transition into their roles.
  • Oversee daily actions of all shift members, including performance management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year prior experience in a similar capacity (Team-Lead/Supervisor).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting up to 40-50lbs throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots mandatory.

Working Conditions

This position requires working an afternoon shift (3PM – 11PM) five times a week in Whitby, Ontario. A salary of $19.65 per hour is offered, with a bonus incentive of $4 extra for every hour worked when certain conditions are met. The maximum bonus incentive is $160 per week, paid each Friday for the previous week's work.
