Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre, a division of IMP Group Limited. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including guest rooms, hotel, and chalets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment to identify and address any issues or concerns.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of equipment, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Assist in administering and documenting equipment preventative maintenance and guest room preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct inspections and repairs on company appliances and building equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and life safety systems.
  • Responsible for daily readings of HVAC equipment, pool chemical balances, and verifying life safety systems are fully operational.
  • Promote and actively participate in Occupational Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Liaise with Front desk and Housekeeping about maintenance issues discovered while cleaning rooms and take appropriate action to resolve any issues.
  • Remove rubbish, recycling, and composting from hotel and bring to collection area.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire/life/safety systems, pool operations, carpentry, masonry, all wall covering systems, flooring (including carpet, tile, wood and finishes).
  • Able to work at heights and on ladders.
  • Able to meet physical requirements of position, which includes, but is not limited to: frequent standing and walking, lifting (up to 75lbs), bending and kneeling, and pulling and pushing.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
