We are currently seeking an experienced Journeyperson Millwright to join our team at our Saskatoon plant location.
Job Overview
This role involves assembling, installing, aligning, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, inspecting, dismantling, and moving machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be able to diagnose irregularities and malfunctions, make adjustments, and repair or replace parts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the general repair of all machinery and equipment
- Assemble, install, and maintain shop machinery and equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including daily housekeeping of shop areas
- Complete work order paperwork and adhere to preventative maintenance systems
- Safely operate forklifts and other hoisting devices when necessary
- Recommend improvements to equipment and processes
- Use various hand power tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Mentor apprentices through their professional development
- Fabricate and weld plant equipment and piping
- Perform shift work based on business needs and work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct
- Foster a positive team culture by promoting respectful treatment of others and aligning with company values
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
Requirements
- Valid Saskatchewan Journeyperson Millwright Certificate or Interprovincial Millwright Red Seal Certification
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a production environment or similar industry
- Prior experience and extensive knowledge of fabricating and welding an asset
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
- Able to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work procedures
- Able to frequently move, carry, lift, push, and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
- Ability to adapt to adverse conditions, including confined spaces, heights, cold weather, odors, and animal by-products
Benefits
West Coast Reduction Ltd. offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits and a generous RRSP matching program.
