Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Optical Specialist to join our team at Lens & Frames Optical Inc. As an Optical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest level of quality in our eyewear products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Manage: Supervise or manage activities of other opticians or student opticians, ensuring seamless workflow and efficient operations.
  • Client Consultation: Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses, providing expert advice on frame styles, lens options, and other related matters.
  • Contact Lens Expertise: Advise clients on the use and care of contact lenses, ensuring they understand the benefits and proper handling of these products.
  • Lens Preparation: Arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses, or perform these tasks yourself, ensuring precise and accurate results.
  • Frame Fitting: Cut and edge lenses, fit lenses into frames, and adjust finished eyeglasses to fit clients perfectly.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: College/CEGEP education and 1-2 years of experience in the optical industry.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal awareness, and judgement.
What We Offer
  • Permanent Full-Time Position: 35-40 hours per week.
