Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Director to join our team at the Government of Canada - Central. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our administrative services department.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills. You will be responsible for coordinating administrative services, hiring and training staff, and directing and advising staff engaged in providing records management, security, finance, purchasing, human resources or other administrative services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate administrative services to ensure seamless delivery of support functions
  • Hire and train staff to meet business needs
  • Direct and advise staff on administrative services including records management, security, finance, purchasing, human resources
  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed
  • Assist in planning and executing financial statement audits
  • Manage the operations of a department providing a single administrative service
  • Evaluate the operations of a department providing administrative services

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a senior administrative role
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven track record of achieving results in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work on site at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role is approximately $85,000 per year, plus benefits. We offer a comprehensive compensation package that includes health and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
