Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our healthcare team, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic/unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving patients to the clinic/unit and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Acting as a communication link for the unit, answering telephone calls and forwarding messages
  • Obtaining, assembling and maintaining charts, transcribing physicians' orders
  • Scheduling appointments/tests for patients and obtaining test results
  • Performing various tasks for the care and comfort of patients
  • Maintaining clinic/unit supplies, compiling statistical information and performing other miscellaneous duties
  • Entering patient data into applicable information systems

Requirements

  • Previous related work experience preferred
  • Current hospital-based information systems/programs; scheduling systems/programs preferred
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards
  • Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk training program required
  • Medical terminology (75% pass mark) required
