Job Summary

As a highly skilled Licensed Diesel Truck Mechanic I, you will be responsible for diagnosing, overhauling, adjusting, and repairing all series of motor truck and trailer equipment. This is a challenging role that requires a specialist in the field to perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services, including routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
  2. Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order, ensuring that work area appearance and safety are maintained at all times.
  3. Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
  4. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
  5. Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmissions and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components etc.
  6. Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • 5+ years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance required
  • Must possess respective Provincial License such as Red Seal/310T
  • Must maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agencies
  • Current driver's license class D or class 3 with air brake certification required or ability to obtain it within 6 months of being hired
  • Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools) required
