Human Resources Specialist

Fragomen (Canada) Co. is a leading global immigration law firm seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team in Canada.
Compensation: $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives to support the company's growth and success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including partners, people managers, and employees.
- Serve as a knowledgeable HR advisor to local partners and managers, addressing employee relations matters and providing expert guidance.
- Proactively gather and analyze data to inform strategic decision-making and contribute to the development of business cases for HR-related projects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in HRIS (Workday) and administer payroll, benefits, and leave programs.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to develop and execute recruitment strategies for all positions.
- Coordinate successful onboarding processes for new hires, including background checks, pre-boarding, and orientation.
- Provide subject matter expertise on local employment laws and practices in Ontario and Quebec, staying informed about upcoming changes and adapting policies accordingly.
- Coordinate the renewal of group insurance programs, seeking cost-effective solutions and administering programs alongside RRSPs.
- Mitigate risk by resolving employee relations and conflict issues, escalating situations to the HR Director and Office of General Counsel as necessary.
- Participate in partner, management, and staff meetings, contributing to discussions around diversity, equity, and inclusion, health, and safety committees.
- Manage vendor relationships for all HR programs.
- Degree in HR Management or related field, CHRP certification preferred.
- 5-8 years of Human Resources Generalist experience, with bilingualism in English and French.
- Experience working with offices in both Ontario and Quebec, with knowledge of relevant employment laws, including Ontario ESA, AODA, OHSA, and Quebec CNESST.
- Strong recruiting and onboarding expertise, coaching skills, and operational execution for all HR functions.
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS-Workday experience an asset.
- Well-developed communication, negotiation, persuasion, and influencing skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
