Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Broker to join our sales team in Morrisburg, Ontario. This individual will be responsible for selling general insurance policies for personal lines coverage, providing exceptional customer service, and working closely with clients to ensure their needs are met.
- Sell general insurance policies to the public by acting as the initial contact with the applicant.
- Obtain all necessary information from the potential client as required to provide an accurate quotation for coverage and premiums to cover the risk involved.
- Place the risk with an appropriate market, obtain and assist in the completion of the proper application for insurance, arrange and collect the premium as per McDougall's payment terms, and forward the application to the insurance company to effect or complete the binding of insurance coverage in a timely manner.
- Ensure an abeyance is in place, followed up within a reasonable time to confirm issuance and receipt of the policy, check for accuracy, and send to the client.
- Follow up with the client to ensure complete satisfaction and to finalize the sales process.
- Responsible for ensuring the timely collection of accounts receivable and any other areas of concern on the portfolio.
Requirements:
- Must have exceptional sales and customer service skills.
- Must be sales-oriented and have a very good knowledge of the risk and insurance products involved.
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with clients in stressful and contentious situations.
- Acts in an open, respectful, honest, and helpful manner with all team members, clients, and other staff.
- Must be willing and eligible to obtain a RIBO license.
We offer a supportive and inclusive culture where diversity is valued, with large earnings potential through competitive commission rates and bonuses. Our salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000-$80,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
Additional pay includes bonus pay and commission pay. The schedule is day shift, Monday to Friday. Work location is in person at our office in Morrisburg, Ontario.
