Dietary Aide Position

We are seeking a qualified Dietary Aide to join our team at Ocean Front Village in Courtenay, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in food service assembly, preparing beverages and food items, and loading and delivering food to the dining room and resident neighborhoods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in food service assembly, including washing, peeling, and storing vegetables and fruit, preparing sandwiches and salads;
  • Prepare beverages and food items, such as tea, coffee, and toast;
  • Load and deliver food to the dining room and resident neighborhoods;
  • Stock resident kitchens with snacks, beverages, and staple goods;
  • Prepare tables in dining areas before mealtimes and clear and clean tables after mealtime;
  • Operate the dishwashing machine and stack clean dishes and utensils;
  • Operate dispensing machines and report unsafe or faulty equipment to the Kitchen Manager;
  • Perform cleaning tasks, such as sweeping and damp mopping floors, sanitizing countertops, sinks, machines, and equipment, and removing trash;
  • Have effective communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills;
  • High school education;
  • FoodSafe certificate preferred;
  • Be capable of lifting up to 10kgs;
  • Successfully clear a Vulnerable Sector - Criminal Record Check;
  • Have the physical capability to perform the duties of the position;
  • Provide proof of full and current vaccinations and negative TB Test.
