Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Counsellor to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our residential care team, you will provide support and guidance to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote personal growth and independence
  • Provide advocacy and support to residents in navigating community resources and services
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support
  • Administer medications and coordinate health appointments as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Completed 2-3 year Developmental Services Worker diploma or equivalent degree/diploma
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Level C Certificate
  • Ability to achieve Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certificate
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and satisfactory driver's abstract
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges
  • Experience with writing and implementing individual support plans
  • Medication administration experience
