The Century Group, a private, locally-owned group of retirement living residences, is seeking a dedicated Dining Experience Specialist to join their team at The Waterford in Tsawwassen.

About the Role:

As a Dining Experience Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to residents and guests in the dining room, resident lounges, and through tray delivery and pick-up. You will work closely with the Director of Care or designate to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exemplary customer service in the dining room and lounges, ensuring a high level of satisfaction for residents and guests.
  • Prepare and serve food, beverages, and accompaniments, including lunch and dinner, teas, special events, and room service.
  • Clean and maintain the dining and lounge areas, including tables, equipment, and carts, to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties and routines, including setting and cleaning of tables, bases, and covers.
  • Dishwashing duties as required.
  • Clean and maintain appliances, such as coffee machines, refrigerators, and ice machines.
  • Carry out general cleaning of spills and food, sweeping, and cleaning after each meal on carpet/flooring in the dining and lounge areas as required.
  • Provide tableside meal service, understanding meal textures and requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year serving experience, preferably in a residential care setting environment.
  • Food Safe Certificate is required.
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be physically and mentally able to carry out assigned duties.
  • Must be organized and able to work in a busy environment.
  • Must possess qualities and attitude that respect and maintain the spirit, dignity, and individuality of residents and employees.
  • Must demonstrate empathy and understanding of seniors, have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness, and ability to work under strict time constraints.
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, organize departmental operations, and speak and understand English competently.
  • Must be capable of safely and efficiently operating all equipment associated with the position.
