Strategic Claims Procurement Lead

Job Summary
We are seeking a Strategic Claims Procurement Lead to join our team at the Government of Canada - Central. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of claims against suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign projects and programs to the purchasing and warehouse departments across the organization
- Plan and control budget and expenditures
- Plan and organize daily operations
- Hire, train, direct and motivate staff
- Plan, develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures
- Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services
- Authorize the development of specifications for products or services
- Manage contracts
- Review and process claims against suppliers
- Oversee the preparation of reports
- Advise senior management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years or more of experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and MS Office applications
