Hospitalist Services Lead for Eastern Zone

Nova Scotia Health is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Hospitalist Services Lead in the Eastern Zone. Reporting to the Department Head of Family Medicine and/or the Regional Site Lead, the Hospitalist Services Lead oversees the delivery of hospitalist clinical services at St. Martha's Regional Hospital in collaboration with the Department Head of Family Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluates medical staff compliance with Nova Scotia Health bylaws and regulations.
- Presents issues and perspectives of Department Medical Staff to the Zone Executive Director and/or Zone Department Head for consideration and resolution.
- Serves as Physician Lead for Emergency Preparedness activities.
- Manages site overcapacity issues from a Departmental perspective.
- Maintains service continuity through Department scheduling practices.
- Chairs regular department meetings and attends other committee meetings as required.
- Monitors Department standards, quality, and resource utilization.
- Participates in clinical services planning for the Department.
- Supports recruitment/retention activities for the Department.
- Liaises with Quality and Patient Safety representatives for incident review processes.
- MD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia Health.
- Evidence of past and ongoing leadership training.
As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy a competitive annual compensation package ranging from $120,000 to $180,000.
