Job Title: Medical Oncologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Oncologist to join our team at BC Cancer. As a Medical Oncologist, you will play a critical role in providing quality cancer care to our patients.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that will primarily treat lung/head & neck and/or GI malignancies. The ideal candidate will have experience in the management of these tumor sites and a strong research background.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients. This includes collaborating with radiation oncologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality cancer care to patients with lung/head & neck and/or GI malignancies
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Conduct research in the field of oncology and contribute to the development of new treatments and therapies
  • Teach and mentor postgraduate trainees and undergraduate medical students
  • Support the activities of the Vancouver Medical Oncology Program and the UBC Medical Oncology Training Program
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine
  • A certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology
  • Eligibility for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia
  • Meet the requirements of credentialing by the Professional Advisory Committee of BC Cancer
  • Eligibility for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia
