Hydraulic Equipment Engineer

Celeros Flow Technology seeks a skilled Hydraulic Equipment Engineer to join our team. As a Pump Design Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing hydraulic pump equipment and machinery.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a talented individual with experience in hydraulic engineering design and analysis to work on various projects. Your primary responsibility will be to determine the hydraulic acceptability of pump equipment and machinery, as well as ensure that they meet company and industry requirements.
Main Responsibilities:- Review customers' purchase orders and design specifications to understand their project requirements.
- Analyze historical test results to modify impeller and casing volute designs to meet customer needs.
- Determine the hydraulic modifications required to achieve as-sold hydraulic performance.
- Work with the Tendering/Advance Engineering group to capture performance parameters at the order entry stage.
- Define performance, NPSH, and mechanical run test requirements, including advising on shop setup and equipment.
- Evaluate historical bad actors vs. as-tendered pump selections.
- Improve pumps passed test first time.
- Perform hydraulic checks and calculations to ensure safe product performance in required applications.
- Manage the creation of hydraulic drawings and customer-related documents.
- Create hydraulic review and traveller documents, along with supporting BOM and Test clarification notes.
- Work under the technical guidance of Senior Hydraulic Engineers and others within Engineering and other functions to achieve project deliverables.
- Support the Test Department by reviewing results, providing revised instructions, and dispositioning NCRs where problems have occurred.
- Support Sales & Tendering with questions and performance modifications as required.
- Work on CARs, VAVE Projects or design centre related activities as appropriate.
- Ensure hydraulic/test design compliance with international standards.
- Interface and support downstream activities post-design phase (shop-floor, test, commissioning, and warranty).
- Investigate root cause of hydraulic design-related problems and provide guidance on updating designs accordingly.
- Ensure safe working practices and safe product design principles.
- Detail technical knowledge and experience with rotating equipment and engineered products.
- Certificate of Hydraulic Engineering or equivalent experience (5-10 years).
- Proficient in performance testing requirements and associated hydraulic design as it relates to API610 and API674.
- Ability to apply classical design techniques and use tools to undertake full range of hydraulic engineering design tasks.
- Interpersonal communication skills necessary to provide direction, support, and consultation with employees, sales team, and customers.
- Detail technical knowledge and experience with rotating equipment and engineered products.
- Basic programming skills in Excel, Sharepoint, Power Apps, and VBA preferred.
- Experience in performance test data analysis and processing for compliance against specification.
- Desire and ability to develop skills beyond current expertise.
- Must be a forward thinker with ability to drive change, push innovation, improve departmental efficiencies, and reduce COPQ.
- Proficient in CAD software applications.
$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
