About the Role

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Clinical Psychologist (PhD) to join our Senior's Health Care Program within the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care portfolio. This long-term assignment will focus on addressing the psychosocial needs of veterans and residents living at Camp Hill Long Term Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 assessment and intervention services to patients and their significant others
  • Develop and implement interdisciplinary care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams
  • Offer consultation services to other healthcare providers and team members
  • Support the development of programs promoting the psychosocial wellbeing of veterans and residents
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a recognized program
  • Accredited clinical pre-doctoral internship experience
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology
  • Familiarity with dementia and other diagnoses leading to placement in long-term care
  • Demonstrated expertise in formulating diagnoses and implementing treatment plans
  • Self-directed practice with ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
