Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineering Lead to join our team at Propak. As a Process Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring junior engineers, overseeing the fabrication and assembly of projects, and developing and building relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, including supervision, checking, and authentication of professional work products.
  • Oversee the fabrication and assembly of projects in the Propak, Airdrie facilities.
  • Develop and build relationships with clients.
  • Travel domestically and internationally for startup and commissioning support.
  • Receive mentorship from senior process engineers, supervisors, and managers to support your technical development and role as a lead process engineer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer registered and in good standing with Alberta Professional Engineers, and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or eligible for membership.
  • 4+ years of experience in natural gas processing or specific experience in: gas dehydration, reciprocating compression, separation, condensate stabilization, plant utilities.
  • Experience designing alternative processes in Glycol Dehydration, Sweetening, Mechanical Refrigeration, Oil Processing, LPG recovery, Centrifugal Compression is considered an asset.
  • EPC and/or Fabricator experience.
  • Excellent communications skills required to interact with client and internal team members.
  • Experience working with HYSYS and other engineering software (BR&E ProMax, VMGSim Symmetry, Flarenet).
  • Experience in sizing process equipment is an asset (separators, towers, heat exchangers, PSVs, flare systems, control valves, pumps, reciprocating, rotary screw, and centrifugal compressors).
  • Experience with typical process deliverables (PFD, HMB, P&ID, Line List, Design Basis Memorandum, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Control Narratives, Datasheets).
