Job Opportunity: Assistant Professor of Teaching

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our team as an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Department of Mathematics at Simon Fraser University (SFU). The successful candidate will have a strong research background in scientific machine learning and PDEs, with a demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in scientific machine learning and PDEs, with a focus on developing a vibrant research program and contributing to the SciMAP group's strengths.
  • Teach upper-division and graduate-level courses in applied mathematics, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Provide service to the department, including contributing to building equitable, diverse, and inclusive environments.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related discipline.
  • Outstanding scientific record of research in scientific machine learning and PDEs.
  • Potential to strengthen the SciMAP group's research and teach upper-division and graduate-level courses in applied mathematics.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Interest and ability to realize excellence in teaching and the supervision of highly qualified personnel.
