The Opportunity:
The Production Supervisor plays a pivotal role in our manufacturing facilities, overseeing the afternoon shift with a focus on quality, safety, and productivity. As a leader, you will inspire your team to deliver exceptional results, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Your expertise in Good Manufacturing Practices and commitment to safety will be essential in maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Responsible for maintaining product quality, assigning tasks, establishing priorities, and resolving production-related issues.
- Supervise production employees, achieve production objectives, verify and implement manufacturing procedures, and oversee shipping and receiving in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Exercise timely and good judgment in day-to-day business decisions, taking initiative to drive results and improve processes.
- Maintain a safe working environment by educating and directing employees on equipment usage and resources, ensuring compliance with OHSA, JHSC recommendations, MOL work orders, company safety rules, GMPs, and HACCP.
- Reduce and eliminate workplace accidents, assist in conducting investigations, and take an active role in WSIB case management to ensure early and safe return of injured workers.
- Develop, direct, manage, train, and motivate employees by communicating job expectations, appraising results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining in a timely manner.
- Administer company policies and procedures, recognizing and supporting the Food Safety promise and facility Mission statement.
What You'll Bring:
- A secondary school education and previous production experience.
- Proven initiative and leadership skills, with a continuous learner mindset and willingness to drive results.
- Experience and commitment to Good Manufacturing Practices, with good verbal and written communication skills in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to problem-solve, maintain a willingness to take calculated risks, and successfully use MS Office and other computer software application programs necessary for Maple Leaf Operations.
