Procurement Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at EPCOR. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying needs to contract execution and supplier relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure optimal results against Supply Chain Management performance metrics.
- Lead the procurement process, including identifying needs, developing bid documents, and negotiating contracts.
- Manage all aspects of competitive bidding processes, including RFI, RFP, and RFQ.
- Facilitate negotiations and serve as the negotiation representative for assigned procurements.
- Prepare contract documents, coordinate award of contracts, and make recommendations to stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships and contracts.
- Collect and analyze data to determine the feasibility of establishing long-term supply contracts.
- Assess competition and market opportunities/threats and recommend plans to address.
- Develop recommendations to optimize overall cost, delivery, and quality for assigned procurement portfolio.
Requirements
- Two-year post-secondary diploma or four-year post-secondary degree in Supply Chain Management or a business-related field.
- Minimum 4 years' extensive experience in category-based buying and negotiating contracts.
- Purchasing Designation (SCMP, C.P.M. or C.P.P.O.) considered an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in public procurement processes, negotiating commercial terms and conditions, and competitive bidding laws.
- Demonstrated ability to apply competitive bidding law, contract law, and risk management tools and skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle or similar ERP software, and Bids & TendersTM or similar web-based eProcurement systems.
