Mental Health Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Brick House Recovery Centre in Edmonton. This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $26.00.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in addiction counseling or a related field. They should be proficient in various counseling techniques and able to step into various roles within the center as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' substance use history, mental health status, and social support systems to develop effective treatment plans.
- Provide one-on-one therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support clients through their recovery journey.
- Facilitate group counselling sessions and support groups to promote peer support and shared experiences among clients.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update personalized treatment plans based on clients' needs, goals, and progress.
- Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, coping strategies, and available community resources.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to coordinate comprehensive care and ensure a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, including risk assessment and appropriate referrals.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Master's degree is an asset)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in addiction counseling or a related field
- Proficient in various counseling techniques (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and Relapse Prevention approaches
- Proficiency in documentation and use of electronic health records systems
- Able to step into various roles within the center as needed
- Competitive hourly rate of $26.00
- Full-time position with a flexible schedule (Monday to Friday with occasional weekends)
