Job Summary

Pura Vida Contracting Ltd is seeking an experienced Woodworking Professional to join our team. As a key member of our construction department, you will be responsible for preparing estimates, reading blueprints, and performing various woodworking tasks.

About the Role

We are offering a permanent opportunity with a competitive salary of $85,000 per year, reflecting the skills and experience required for this role. This position involves working 40 hours per week in a physically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Instruct and supervise apprentices as needed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience in woodworking or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment

This role involves working in a fast-paced construction environment with varying locations. You will be exposed to physical demands such as bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working at heights.
