Are you a seasoned logistics professional seeking a challenging role with a world-renowned company? Kuehne+Nagel, a leader in the logistics industry, is looking for a highly skilled Distribution Centre Manager to join their Contract Logistics team.

Your Role

You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by executing work processes across the distribution center that ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality workmanship. This involves leading customer negotiations, participating in new business implementation project management, and reviewing monthly forecasts to improve negative trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead customer negotiations and develop proactive relationships with clients
  • Participate in new business implementation project management to drive growth and efficiency
  • Contribute to bids, tenders, and RFPs, ensuring accuracy in billing and invoicing
  • Review and analyze monthly forecasts, taking corrective action to address deviations from plan
  • Oversee the performance of direct reports, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Set SMART goals and projects to achieve individual, distribution center, and divisional results
  • Spearhead employee engagement and retention initiatives, succession planning, and internal promotions
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to ensure standardized and best-in-class logistics operations
  • Promote a culture of safety within the distribution center
  • Support local implementation of KNPS Bronze, Silver, and Gold certifications
  • Plan labor requirements based on sales forecasts and input from direct reports
  • Develop space utilization plans to meet prescribed cost and services standards
Your Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will require a strong background in leadership, preferably with 7+ years of experience in managing pharmaceutical distribution centers or similar roles. A diploma or degree in International Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field would be an asset. Additionally, you should possess knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, employment standards, and common workplace hazards and associated controls.

You should also have extensive experience with various production and quality systems, such as GxP, GMP, ISO, Lean, TPS, Six Sigma, and be proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Professional certifications like CSCP/PMP/CIT would be beneficial.
