About the Role:

Health PEI is seeking a skilled Nutrition Specialist to join their team in providing exceptional care and education to clients with diabetes.

About You:

  • You have a strong educational background in Food and Nutrition, with a post-graduate internship in Dietetics or a Master's Degree in Community or Human Nutrition.
  • You are certified as a Diabetes Educator or willing to obtain certification within three years of employment.
  • You possess registration with the College of Registered Dietitians and Insulin Adjustment Certification as per Health PEI's Provincial Diabetes Program.

About the Job:

This role involves working closely with other members of the Diabetes Team to provide comprehensive care and education to clients and families.

Your responsibilities will include conducting nutritional assessments, developing personalized care plans, and providing advanced carbohydrate counselling for individuals using an insulin pump.

You will also collaborate with primary care physicians and specialist healthcare professionals to review, recommend, and monitor diabetes management protocols.

In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate client records, reports, and communication related to nutrition assessment.

About the Salary:

The successful candidate can expect a salary range of $32.31-$40.38 per hour (Level 17A).

About the Benefits:

  • Bi-weekly hours: 75 hours
  • Days, evenings, and weekends may be required
