About the Senior Data Scientist Role

We're looking for an experienced Data Scientist to play a foundational role in shaping Float's data science capabilities, strategies, and to continue to build out our Data Science team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a data strategy that aligns with Float's strategy, identify key metrics, and set processes for data collection, storage, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Build upon Float's data infrastructure, determining technologies and tools for data science activities.
  • Build and maintain our data warehouse, using DBT to transform data and unlock deeper analytics.
  • Work closely with the product team to build data-led products.
  • Analyze large-scale, complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and drive decision-making.
  • Evaluate model performance and propose enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with all teams across Float to understand data needs and provide solutions.

Requirements

  • Be an owner, taking on challenges and driving them to completion.
  • Explain complex data in simple terms, communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • Have solid technical skills in data modeling, data structures, data mining, predictive modeling, and analysis tools.
  • Understand the business context, knowing how data impacts the business and drives decisions.
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changes as they occur.
  • Balance attention to detail and strategic thinking.
  • Ruthlessly prioritize, managing workload and meeting deadlines.
  • Have an experimental mindset, designing and analyzing experiments to optimize products and make business decisions.
  • Eager to continue learning, having healthy debates with colleagues about the product.
