Forensic Community Specialist

Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing nursing services to individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients, including biopsychosocial evaluations and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families, including information on mental illness, treatment options, and community resources.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and transitions.
- Document client information accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
- Two years recent, related experience working with individuals in the community with severe and persistent psychiatric illness.
- Valid BC Drivers License.
- Broad knowledge of nursing theory and Forensic Psychiatric Nursing practice.
- Broad knowledge of British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) standards of professional practice and Code of Ethics.
