Toronto, Ontario, Canada Etraveli Group Full time
About Tripstack

We are a travel tech company that's changing the way millions of people travel. Our proprietary virtual interlining technology provides access to billions of travel itineraries by combining flights from different airline carriers that don't traditionally work together. We take our customers from point A to B via C, including land transportation, at the lowest possible price. We're impacting the way people travel and providing higher margin opportunities to our partners that are some of the largest in the travel industry.

We pride ourselves on the performance-driven environment we've created for our teams to prosper and excel in. We come to work ready, to challenge and be challenged. We're big enough to give our teams support but small enough that every person makes a difference. There are plenty of challenges to champion.

The Role

As a Senior member of the Site Reliability Engineering Team, you'll be working closely with Software Engineers to deploy and operate various production systems and processes. You'll be in charge of ensuring the highest levels of stability, uptime, security, maintainability, scalability, and performance of our production systems.

We run a hybrid environment, consisting of both cloud and datacentre-based infrastructure. SRE team members deal with both cloud and on-prem, yet this role requires more focus and skillset on the datacentre-based environments.

In addition, you'll be developing new features and writing scripts and programs for automation using Golang and Python. There's no hard and fast rule as to which of these languages to use, other than just using the best tool for the job. We expect you to take ownership and start implementing solutions and solving problems right away. We'll expect you to contribute ideas to improve our architecture and our processes in addition to writing code.

Responsibilities:
  • Understand and utilize various open source technologies
  • Experience with Cisco networking (e.g. Nexus, catalyst, UCS, Firepower, Meraki, etc.)
  • LAN/WAN networking (routing, switching)
  • Experience with enterprise storage systems (ex. Nimble, Pure)
  • Provision, install, secure, monitor, manage, and maintain Unix/Linux servers on scale using Puppet and Terraform/Kubernetes
  • Build independent web-based tools, microservices, and solutions
  • Write scripts and automation using Golang and Python
  • Configure and manage data sources like Kafka, PostgreSQL, Memcache, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc
  • Use various tools (e.g. Foreman, Puppet, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.) to orchestrate solutions
  • Understand how various systems work and their dependencies
  • Understand how IT and Infrastructure operations are managed
  • Manage source control using GIT
  • Ensure Unix/Linux standards, processes, procedures, and security best practices are implemented, efficient, effective, and documented
  • Mentor other team members and grow the team's technical level and expertise
Requirements

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in Unix/Linux systems administration and infrastructure automation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud and datacentre-based infrastructure, as well as experience with open source technologies and automation tools.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and team player, with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development. If you're a motivated and experienced professional looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply.

We're an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates. We're committed to creating a safe, healthy, and accessible environment for all employees.
