We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Architect to join our team at InSync Systems Inc. in Calgary, Alberta. This is a 12-month contract position with possible extensions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to collaborate with the IT Service Provider to ensure that managed services are delivered according to SLAs and KPIs.

The Senior Infrastructure Architect will be pivotal within our client’s Infrastructure and Cloud Services team, ensuring data availability and security through effective storage and backup/recovery services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and participating in collaboration efforts between the Infrastructure and Cloud Services team and the Service Providers Operational team
  • Providing expert advice on infrastructure planning, development, and management for storage and backup systems
  • Conducting assessments and evaluations of existing storage and backup systems
  • Developing and implementing strategic/tactical plans that align with Enterprise Architecture Road maps
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify infrastructure needs and solutions
  • Preparing and presenting reports and recommendations to senior management
  • Participating in annual Budgeting planning for Capital or SG&A requirements
  • Overseeing the backup/storage environment, ensuring data integrity and availability
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues related to storage and backup systems
  • Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans and conducting regular testing
  • Overseeing regular updates and maintenance of backup and storage systems

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required
  • A minimum of 8-10+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • Proficiency with operating systems, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and backup solutions
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., EMC, IBM) would be an asset
  • Familiarity with tools like NetApp and Commvault would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Azure CVO Storage
  • Knowledge of Virtualization (e.g. VMware) and Cloud (e.g. Azure) will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of handling of structured vs. unstructured data would be an asset
