Indigenous Leadership and Policy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Indigenous Leadership and Policy Manager to lead our Rights and Title Department. This role requires strong leadership, team management, and policy implementation skills.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Rights and Title team, including managing workload, overseeing staff training and development, coaching for performance, and contributing to a positive work environment.
- Lead the Rights and Title team in implementing agreements with industry and government.
- Participate in Implementation and Shared Decision-Making Boards as requested by the Divisional Manager.
- Develop and implement the shíshálh Nation Lands and Resources Decision-Making Policy.
- Manage the engagement process and associated archaeology work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring spending is within approved limits.
- Prepare budget reports and recommendations for the Divisional Manager.
- Plan and coordinate activities related to policy implementation.
- Develop information to support community engagement activities.
- Assist the Divisional Manager in implementing annual strategic directions and goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Aboriginal Studies, History, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in stewardship, Rights and Title, or a related area.
- At least 3 years of management experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performance teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
