The University of British Columbia, a world-renowned institution, is seeking an exceptional Biotechnology Lecturer to join its esteemed faculty. This is a full-time position with the possibility of reappointment, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the Masters of Biotechnology Program.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated experience or ability to teach applied courses in molecular cloning, cell and tissue culture, and/or significant professional experience in a biotechnology laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach a range of graduate-level biotechnology courses
  • Train students in state-of-the-art laboratory techniques
  • Support and mentor students undertaking professional internships in the Biotechnology sector
  • Participate fully in the affairs of the Department of Biology and may be assigned service obligations to the I.K. Barber Faculty of Science and the University

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience or ability to teach applied courses in molecular cloning, cell and tissue culture
  • Significant professional experience in a biotechnology laboratory environment

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation rate for this position ranges from $85,000 to $90,000 per year. The university offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as access to employee assistance programs and retirement plans.
