Our Information Technology team plays a critical role in enabling our business with the technology needed to advance toward our digital future. In addition to managing systems and tools that keep our company running, we enable Nutrien's tech strategy and run Centres of Excellence in Cloud, Cybersecurity, Automation, and SAP, as well as a Centre for Acceleration in Data and Analytics.

This role will be accountable for a broad portfolio of infrastructure software and hardware spend models in place, maintaining service partner or manufacturer relationships to drive the ideal blend of agility, flexibility, process, and optimal spend. We'll hold you accountable for uncovering and implementing solutions or organizational changes to optimize spending and support the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. As the service owner of our software/hardware asset management platform, you'll lead escalations for operational issues supporting other IT or business teams.
  2. You'll oversee licensing or other flexible use product quantities to ensure compliance and agility, partnering with other IT teams to ensure cloud or subscription licensing models are efficient.
  3. Your expertise will guide exploration of new services with cloud providers to assist with spend model and contract analysis.
  4. You'll be the escalation point for operations impacted by licensing or asset management.
  5. Maintain budget data for utilization and forecast to ensure resource spend is properly accounted for.
  6. You'll consult with IT leaders to determine required licensing levels to onboard new product sets or adjustment activities to drive savings.
  7. As an SME for collaboration technologies, you'll provide guidance and direction for project-focused teams.

Requirements:

  • A BS degree or 8+ years' experience in a related field as an expert licensing and asset leader within a large IT organization.
  • You should have a strong ability to think strategically, with a centered theme of the end-user experience across multiple geographies and business units.
  • We're looking for initiative to define and oversee implementation of a new solution, deriving necessary architecture or platform changes, defining successful outcomes, and leading execution and change management.
  • You'll need a customer-oriented mindset to execute with business awareness for prioritization of projects, tasks, and incident resolution.
  • Lead experience to manage team resourcing, peers, or peer teams in delivery.
  • Experience with asset management platforms for software/hardware licensing compliance and lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize spend with cloud computing subscription-based or premise licensing in a global model.
  • Strong understanding of licensing models and contracts with major providers in a large enterprise environment.
  • Keen understanding and ability to maintain cloud and software market trends to support future strategies.
  • Skillset to build analysis of cost models and forecast in a presentation medium delivering key messages to dependent IT teams, business groups, or executive leadership.
  • Experience in accountability for asset inventory to report accurate data in support of audits or yearly true-up activities.
  • Experience with optimizing Microsoft licensing models, particularly in Enterprise Agreements and Unified Support.
  • Prior experience with asset-integrated platforms such as SCCM, InTune, or ServiceNow is preferred.
  • Adept in working with Microsoft support for user or major incident management.
  • Ability to shift from strategic to tactical level as required.
