Job Title: Underground Survey Technician

Join Trillium Guideway Partners as an Underground Survey Technician and contribute to the success of our Ontario Line project.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Underground Survey Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Primary Construction Team, you will be responsible for conducting various field survey operations, including total station accurate set of angles and high accuracy levelling loops for Surface and Tunnel control network, total Station/GPS surveys, lay-outs and As-Built and other surface and tunnel survey works as requested.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setup and configure survey equipment.
  • Helps maintaining and verifying the control network.
  • Maintain accurate survey notes and records, documentation, and stamped submittals.
  • Monitor work being completed in the field where surveying techniques are required.
  • Communicate with operations, engineers, and subcontractors to complete assigned tasks.
  • Manage As-Built information and digital records.
Requirements
  • Solid understanding of safety requirements on an active construction site and applicable safety policies.
  • Post-secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics or Civil Engineering preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of survey practices and standards.
  • Preferred 2 years' experience in Construction Surveying including Control Networks.
  • Construction experience in Civil, Structural, Utilities and other areas preferred.
  • Good computer skills. Preferred proficiency in the use of survey data and office, surveying, and CAD software.
  • GPS, total station (Leica Captivate preferred), and digital level experiences.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation is an asset.
  • Experience with Hydro One and Toronto Hydro specifications and standards is an asset.
