Job Summary

We seek a highly motivated Speech Language Pathologist to provide in-clinic, in-home visits, and virtual sessions based on client needs and clinic resources. The successful candidate will offer expressive and receptive communication, augmentative and alternative communication, social pragmatics, speech, fluency, and swallowing services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services to program participants and their families through one-on-one and group programs, using psychosocial assessments and appropriate methods of intervention and documentation within the framework of a Speech-Language Pathologist's knowledge and skills.
  • Offer diagnostic and therapeutic speech/language services to referred outpatients or inpatients as necessary.
  • Making referrals to other healthcare professionals and/or physicians, with the patient's/family's consent.
  • Conducting communication assessments in-site and within community settings, either in-person or virtually.
  • Providing diagnostic and therapeutic speech/language services and bedside swallowing assessments to referred inpatients when required.
  • Participating in relevant safety training or education updates.
  • Contributing to a transparent culture of client and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by SJHC's patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent qualification.
  • Licence with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) or ability to obtain CASLPO registration.
  • Experience working with adult in-patient populations is an asset but not mandatory.
  • A reliable vehicle with insurance is required.
  • Adequate access to internet bandwidth at home is advantageous.

The estimated salary for this position is between $70,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
