About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Health and Safety Expert to join our team at the LCBO. As a Senior Manager of Workplace Wellness, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs that align with industry best practices and legislated requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy safety programs that identify and remediate root causes of injuries, illnesses, and near misses.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities to eliminate or reduce risks across the hierarchy of controls.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on health and safety matters.
  • Report on health and safety metrics, including root cause analysis of trends.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to a team of professionals.
  • Manage day-to-day health-related projects and activities, including program development and implementation.

About You

  • Post-secondary degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a unionized, retail, public sector, construction, or manufacturing setting.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, OHRC, AODA, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hazard identification, including hazardous materials, construction, fire safety, psychological hazards, and environmental conditions.
  • Certified Registered Safety Professional is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for facilitating training seminars, presentations, and preparing reports.
