Technical Process Writer

Join Morson Talent (Canada & USA) in North York, ON as a Technical Process Writer. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days of on-site work and the remaining days remote.
The contract duration is 12 months with an option to extend for up to 2 years in 1-year increments. The working hours are 35 hours per week, and the potential start date is negotiable.
We are seeking two experienced Senior Content Specialists (10+ years) with a background in construction project management procedure development. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Developing detailed procedures or instructions for project management, project controls, engineering, and construction management processes.
- Facilitating interviews with subject matter experts and writing user-friendly procedures based on their knowledge and requirements.
- Reviewing draft procedures for completeness, comprehensibility, and accuracy through continuous coordination with subject matter experts.
- Creating and maintaining word or excel form templates that meet the needs of the target audience, adhere to organizational and legal standards, and allow easy input while incorporating process steps in a sequential order.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 10 years of practical experience as an effective procedure writer in project management, project controls, engineering, and/or construction management environments.
- Proficiency in procedure writing and building procedures based on process mapping including flowcharts.
- Specialized knowledge in Project and Construction Management industry processes, with the capability to translate those processes into written procedures.
- Effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
- A high degree of attention to detail.
- Proficient in understanding complex interdepartmental processes.
- The ability to handle multiple procedural developments simultaneously within defined timelines and per specific directives.
- A post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g., Construction Project Management, Process Management, Engineering).
In addition to your extensive experience and qualifications, having certification or courses completed in Project Management disciplines will be considered an asset. Familiarity with public sector transportation agencies is also desirable.
This role offers a competitive salary of $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
