Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Resilience and Risk Associate to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our Capital Markets Operational Risk and Resilience (CM ORR) unit, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of our Operational Resilience program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the global Operational Resilience mandate to implement the Operational Resilience program, manage the crisis and incident response protocol, maintain business continuity documentation, facilitate business continuity testing, and execute tabletop exercise/scenario testing.
  • Support the global Operational Risk mandate to maintain/enhance the Process, Risk and Control (PRC) Library, conduct Operational Risk assessments, and execute on key Operational Risk projects and initiatives.
  • Partner effectively with enterprise Resilience and Integration (R&I) to aid in Quality Assurance (QA) Review process completion.
  • Manage call tree notification system updates and all CM Business Continuity Plan testing, including Disaster Recovery (D/R), notification system management, third party/vendor testing, Alternate Work Area, and BCP Walkthrough.
  • Conduct Scenario Testing with Ops Res team to identify gaps/vulnerabilities and establish actions plans for remediation (if required).
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Economics, Finance and/or relevant background.
  • 5+ years of Banking/Financial Institution/ Management Consulting experience with relevant Business Risk exposure, including Business Continuity, Operational Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Cyber Security, Third Party Risk, Technology Resiliency, Legal, AML, etc.
  • Good understanding of the regulatory landscape and industry practices with respect to Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience and Operational Risk.
  • Experienced in and effective at responding to and dealing with significant problems and crises.
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of Capital Markets products, services, and systems.
  • Knowledge of the various risks and controls associated with Capital Markets' business activities.
  • Advanced Office Suite proficiency, such as, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio, etc.
