We are seeking a highly motivated and culturally sensitive Indigenous Liaison Worker to join our team at School District #75 (Mission). This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Indigenous students and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to Indigenous students and their families, promoting academic success and social-emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to develop and implement culturally responsive programs and services.
  • Build relationships with Indigenous community members, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers to enhance cultural understanding and promote reconciliation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address the historical and ongoing impacts of colonialism on Indigenous students and their families.
  • Provide crisis support and referrals to students and families as needed.
Requirements
  • Completion of grade 12 and a diploma or completed program of studies in a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with Indigenous children and youth.
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures, heritages, and value systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and vehicle.
