Winter Maintenance Operator

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Winter Patroller to join our winter maintenance team at Owen Sound Highway Maintenance AMC. As a Winter Patroller, you will be responsible for performing road maintenance activities on provincial highways, responding to emergency situations, and assisting in implementing an emergency plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform road maintenance activities on provincial highways
- Respond to emergency situations such as spills and accidents during inclement weather
- Assist in implementing an emergency plan
- Provide traffic control at accident scenes as per the contract requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service
- Maintain and clean equipment, conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Make snow and ice control decisions during winter and initiate equipment and operator call outs
- Inspect patrols and create deficient lists for the Foreperson
- Respond to public complaints
