About the Role:

Auberge du Pommier is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host to join our Front of House team. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity and ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Communicate with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant.
  • Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly.
  • Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in our system.
  • Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform co-workers of upcoming events and special requests.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the restaurant trade area, including location, surroundings, and nearby attractions.
  • Ensure the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris.
  • Maintain awareness of which servers are in each section and fill out detailed special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, and other notable events.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms by completing regular checks throughout the shift.
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in customer service, with restaurant experience considered an asset.
