Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Aquatic Fitness Instructor to join our team at the City of Abbotsford. As an Aquatic Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and executing fitness classes in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and instruction to patrons in the fitness centers.
  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons for each class.
  • Adapt to the needs of the class population.
  • Teach patrons how to use equipment and review rules for a safe classroom environment.
  • Enforce general rules of conduct for the fitness facilities.
  • Treat injuries and complete necessary documentation.
  • Report any equipment issues to the supervisor team.
  • Provide high-quality customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for the community.
  • Communicate effectively with the Fitness Supervisor team.

Requirements:

  • Current BCRPA or Equivalent Aqua Fitness Certification.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR 'C' & AED certification.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of standard of care and working within your scope of practice.
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment and its use for basic fitness needs.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with patrons and staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the supervisor team.
