Project Support Manager

About the Role
The Project Support Manager plays a crucial role in providing project management oversight and support services to Fraser Health clients across a specified group of projects. This position requires a strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the Health Informatics & Information Technology (HIIT) project inventory.
- Oversee the Performance Management process for assigned HIIT projects.
- Manage enterprise-wide projects and/or major organizational initiatives through the project management lifecycle using standard methodologies.
- Maintain project standards for quality, transparency, and governance according to the Project Management Office Project Lifecycle.
- Support Project Teams in planning and development according to the Project Management Office Project Lifecycle.
- Ensure that all projects follow the Project Management Office Project Lifecycle as mandated by executives.
- Work with the Project Sponsor and stakeholders by monitoring and reporting on all project phases to ensure project success and overall quality of implemented solutions.
- Clarify and manage the scope of projects by defining the contract deliverables to achieve targeted outcomes and ensure project requirements are achieved in a timely manner within defined financial and resource guidelines.
- Provide support in the development of the project budget; monitor progress against project objectives, produce periodic reports and discuss project progress with operational executives once project budget has been approved.
- Manage and assemble projects teams by identifying resources, assigning responsibilities and developing project timelines and/or milestones to facilitate the successful completion of project activities and deliverables.
- Identify project risks and develop plans to mitigate identified and related project risks.
- Monitor project delivery performance against defined project plans; ensure project completion by facilitating post-implementation evaluations and measuring key outcomes against projected outcomes and assessing the performance of project-related staff to ensure customer satisfaction, project success and alignment of FH Strategic Plans.
- Champion planning and project methodologies and best practice through mentoring, coaching and communicating with assigned staff, team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or Health Information Science, supplemented with seven years' recent related experience with contemporary project management practice including three years' experience as a project manager for a large complex organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
