About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Director of Anatomical Pathology to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories Ltd. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $350,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Description

The successful candidate will lead our anatomical pathology department, overseeing the examination and diagnosis of surgical specimens and autopsy materials. You will be responsible for supervising a team of pathologists and laboratory staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting complex microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens
  • Developing and implementing quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results
  • Serving as a consultant to other physicians and healthcare professionals
  • Coordinating with senior management to develop and implement departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, including case files and quality assurance data
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry
  • Completion of a pathology residency program
  • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
  • Specialty certification in anatomical pathology
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
