Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled plumbing work at the journeyman level, including installation, alteration, and repair of plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Installs and/or repairs gas, air, water, and medical gases systems, as well as cross-connection preventative devices.
  2. Reviews work requests and consults with user departments regarding specifications and other project requirements.
  3. Prepares for work projects by arranging work schedules with user departments and assembling supplies, tools, and equipment.
  4. Carries out plumbing preventive maintenance by inspecting piping systems, cross-connection preventative devices, drains, and other plumbing fixtures for repair and maintenance needs.
  5. Sets up and maintains an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools, and completes related reports and records.
  6. Maintains logs and records tests of plumbing equipment, eye wash stations, fire pumps, cross-connection preventative devices, and plumbing fixtures and equipment.
  7. Participates on various internal and external committees as required.
  8. Assists and relieves the Plant Maintenance Engineer in the operation and repair of steam boilers and ancillary steam equipment as required.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC, and a valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section.

Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
