Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate to join our team at Health Careers in Sask. As a First Nations and Métis Relations Associate, you will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with First Nations and Métis communities and organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to build and maintain relationships with First Nations and Métis communities and organizations.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff on Indigenous relations and cultural safety.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement policies and procedures related to Indigenous relations.
  • Provide education and training to staff on Indigenous history, culture, and current issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous organizations and communities to promote Health Careers in Sask's services and programs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with First Nations and Métis communities and organizations.
  • Business Administration diploma (DBA) or a Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management.
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable.
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Mobilizes people, inspires and leads by example.
  • Commitment to a diverse, representative workforce and cultural safety.
  • Promotes innovation, guides change and is committed to continuous improvement.
  • Has demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop others.
  • Has demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of First Nations and Métis history in Saskatchewan.
  • Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity.
  • Knowledge in the Saskatchewan health care system.
  • Knowledge in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.
  • Committed to delivering on patient and family centred care.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Travel within Saskatchewan.
