The Opportunity

This Admitting Clerk position reports to the Manager, Health Information Services, and supervises the Health Information Services team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Data entry for in-patient and outpatient registration, admission, discharge, transfer, and pre-registrations
  • Transport functions in accordance with unit and IWK Health policies
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies
  • Specific auditing functions
  • Point Pleasant Lodge reservations
  • Arranging shift coverage
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Completion of a recognized office administration program is an asset
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Emergency experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills are required
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills are required
  • Flexibility to work additional shifts is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
  • Competency in other languages is an asset
Compensation and Benefits
