Job Summary
Propak Systems Ltd., a leading engineering and fabrication company, is seeking a skilled Journeyman B-Pressure Welder to join our fabrication shops in Alberta. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out pressurized welding requirements, reading blueprints, and operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out pressurized mild and/or stainless-steel welding requirements, observing specific guidelines and procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using various processes.
- Remove metal and/or prepare materials for welding by gouging and grinding.
- Ensure all welding equipment is clean and functional.
- Handle layouts, cutting openings, fitting nozzles, and internal detail fit-up on pressure vessels, towers, and heat exchangers.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Grade B-Pressure or C-Pressure Welder Certificate of Competency or
- A Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Welder Certificate or Welder Trade Certificate along with a valid Pressure Welder Certificate where the test is identical to the Alberta initial test and conducted by the jurisdictional inspector, and a valid Performance Qualification issued by the jurisdiction
- 2+ years of directly related work experience
- Vessel fitting experience is an asset
- Ability to work night shift is considered an asset
